Gather ingredients

Gather plain flour, bananas, dark chocolate, ground allspice and apple cider vinegar.

Gather maple syrup, white sugar, bicarbonate of soda, dairy-free butter and light brown sugar.

Gather vanilla extract, salt, cocoa powder, almond milk and pecans.

Prepare oven and tin

Preheat oven to 170°C.

Line a 1kg loaf tin with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Mix ingredients

Pour plain flour, light brown sugar, white sugar, cocoa powder, and bicarbonate of soda into the bowl.

Now add salt, ground allspice, dairy-free butter, bananas, and almond milk into the same bowl.

Then add maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and vanilla extract into the bowl.

Mix all the ingredients in the bowl to create a thick mixture.

Add chocolate and pecans

Break the dark chocolate and pecans into small pieces and tip them into the bowl.

Mix everything together carefully.

Pour mixture

Pour the mixture into the lined loaf tin and put it in the oven (170°C).

Bake for 60-65 minutes (170°C), or until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.

Cool and serve

Take the tin out of the oven and leave the bread to cool to room temperature.

Remove the bread from the tin and cut it into slices to serve.
